The PRO-DP series drive ready RAID subsystems are inligent solutions offering fault-tolerant data protection and * transparent to the host operating system. It is a full featured data protection subsystem supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3 and 5, hot-swappable drive trays, load sharing hot swappable power supplies. The LVD SCSI host interface provides throughput up to 160MB/s utilizing SCSI LVD technology to the host computer. It is the ideal storage solution for applications requiring high data throughput, high
availability, and flexibility in configuration.

Installation is done via an easy to use menu system on the subsystem controller. Other subsystem functions available from the controller front panel are drive array / drive status, statistics, and array configuration and from the drive chassis front panel, real time drive activity and fault status indicators. Far superior to the PCI-based RAID controllers, PRO-DP subsystems require no vendor unique device drivers. Because the PRO-DP is fully transparent to the host operating system, there will be no vendor unique driver associated problems. Remote array management is through a serial port interface accessible to any PC or terminal.

The PPO-DP series RAID subsystems come with 6 hot-swappable LVD SCSI drive trays. Reliability and serviceability are insured through load sharing hot-swappable 250 watt Power Supplies. A backplane interconnect design eliminates the problems associated with cable connections. Its modularity and scalability make expansion easy when the storage capacity needs increase. Higher storage capacity can be achieved by daisy-chaining additional arrays.
