general

the ss-5421 is a high quality oscilloscope of portable type which covers a wide frequency bandwidth from dc to 350 mhz.

the vertical deflection system allows measurement of sum of two signals (add) or difference of two signals (with ch2 polar switch), as well as ordinary dual-trace or triple-trace measurement (alt and chop). the channel 1 and channel 2 are designed for the high sensitivity which reaches 5 mv/div and the sensitivity can be increased up to 1 mv/div by connecting the two channels in cascade. signal applied to the channel 3 can be also used as the external trigger signal for channel 1 and/or channel 2 and displayed on the crt.

the horizontal deflection system can be triggered with signals from dc to 350 mhz. trigger (sweep) mode
which is suited for measuring ob-ject can be se-lected out of auto and norm. as the sweep rate is provided to 1 ns/div, high speed phenomena can be measured accuray. functions such as sweep magnification, delay sweep, alternate sweep, holdoff control, single sweep and x-y operation are provided.

the cathode-ray tube is a square type incorporated with parallax free internal graticule. the effective viewing area is 8 divisions (vertical) by 10 divisions (horizontal) in size and high intensity observation is possible by high accerelation voltage of 20 kv. furthermore, the trace intensity can be enhanced in high speed sweeps.

internal circuit is designed as a full solid-state structure. further outstanding stability and reliability of operation is ensured by drastic use of integrated circuits.
